COMMITMENT SUNDAY BLESSINGS

I am so proud of the way you stepped up and pledged your support for the ongoing ministry of our church on April 1. For 62 years, member of Oak View have been making sacrifices so others could know about the life changing love of Jesus. But on this day a new generation stood up to be counted. In addition to scores of people signing up to CONNECT, SERVE and GO, you gave one of the largest offerings to the church ministry budget ever given.

THE LIGHT OF EASTER

If you were at Oak View yesterday, you received truly a very special blessing. From the smiles of the greeters from the parking lot to the pew to the special music shared by the choir, God’s love shined. The sky may have been overcast, but the light of Christ illuminated our campus.

Let me challenge you to take that same light of Easter into your work, your street and our community. Paul says, For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. And when you feel inadequate for the task, remember that God’s power is magnified by our weaknesses. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. II Corinthians 4:6-7

THANK YOU’s

So many people make each Sunday special, it’s hard not to miss someone. But here goes:

Thanks to:

  • John Cornish and the choir for Spirit filled worship and special presentations on Good Friday and Easter.
  • Our great staff and all their hard work. Everyone who invited someone to come to church yesterday.
  • The greeters, ushers, parking lot crew . . . everyone who made us all feel very welcome.
  • The leaders of our church who made Commitment Sunday and Easter Sunday such a blessing.

It’s an honor to serve as your pastor.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Jim
