Life Change Sunday
A marriage on the verge of collapse is saved; a 27 year old with Stage 4 cancer is miraculously healed; a young mom at the point of despair receives hope and a new direction from God; a 5th grader comes to know Jesus as her personal savior; a senior adult finds friendship, prayer partners and encouragement in her Sunday morning Bible study. These were just a few stories shared during Life Change Sunday.
Faith for the Future
On April 25, as an act of faith for the future, Oak View unanimously approved Vision 2012 - a bold three-part plan for spiritual growth, community outreach and facility improvement. As a part of that plan, on September 19, we’ll officially launch “Faith for the Future,” a church-wide spiritual growth and giving campaign. We’ll be raising funds to provide by faith the necessary facilities to reach current and future generations for Christ. It will take all of us doing our part to make the projects in “Faith for the Future” become a reality. Let me encourage you to begin to pray now and ask God about your part in the campaign.
Trusting God in Hard Times
Growing up, my family lived by a simple motto: “All for one and one for all.” Someone said, “Because life hurts, stay close to people who pray.” Oak View is a family based on mutual prayer, care and ministry. Now, more than ever, we need to stick together and encourage and pray for one another. On September 5 and 12, we’ll continue with the message series “In God We Trust: Biblical Advice for Difficult Times.” God wants to speak to you through these messages. Don’t miss what He wants to say to you.
It’s an honor to serve as your pastor.
We love you all, Pastor Jim
