Oak View's Work in Chiapas

February 2, 2012

Roy Soto, Oak View’s Interim Missions Coordinator, traveled to Chiapas, Mexico this month to work with 160 pastors and church leaders in developing their leadership and pastoral skills. Oak View has been deeply involved in the state of Chiapas for many years establishing the Sloan Institute which provides the training that pastors and leaders need to begin new churches and to build up the churches that are already established. Currently, the Baptist Convention of the Coast of Chiapas has 68 established churches. The convention’s goal for 2012 is to establish twelve new church plants.

Please add the following individuals to your prayer list as we continue to see God do great things through the pastors and church leaders.

  • Pray for Juan Rivera, Sloan Institute Director.Chiapas Mission 1
  • Pray for the Sloan Institute Teachers:  Armahim Hernandez, Juan Jose Linares, Juan Ortiz and Hugo Zanches.
  • Pray for Ramon Solis, Sloan Institute Mentor.
