I.  Science & the Bible

 

• Does Genesis 1 conflict with science? What about the Big Bang?  What about dinosaurs?  

 ¹ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  ² Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.  Genesis 1:1-2

 

• Did the miracles of the Bible really happen?

³⁰Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. ³¹But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31 

 

 

II. Evil  & Suffering

 

• “Why do bad things happen to good people?”  Why is there so much suffering in the world?

. . . In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."  John 16:33

 

¹⁰ he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.   ¹¹ For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;

 ¹² as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.  Psalms 103:10-12

• How is the story of Jonah and the whale possible?
• Is it OK for a Christian to read horoscopes?

 

III. Eternal Security.

 

• How can I be sure I’m saved? 
• Can a person, once they’re saved, lose their salvation?
