Questions about   . . .

I.   What We Believe As Baptists.

  • “Why are we Baptists, including what makes Baptists different from other denominations?”

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness… II Tim. 3:16

  • What is the Baptist Faith and Message and why is it important?

  • “Why is it often heard that Baptists don’t dance, drink, gamble, etc?”  “How do we determine which things to avoid and which things to do in moderation?”

You say, “I am allowed to do anything”—but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.  I Corinthians 6:12  NLT

Quick Questions:

  • How do we know the Bible is accurate?
  • I hear people say, “I’m not religious, but I am spiritual.”  What does that mean?
  • Are all sins equal?  Is homosexuality a sin?   Romans 1: 24, 26-27   What about living together?

Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.  Hebrews 13:4

II.   What We Believe as a Church.

  • What is Oak View’s mission?   Why is it essential that every attender WORSHIP, CONNECTSERVE and GO.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8

  • Where can I get a church budget?  What percentage of our hard earned money goes to the Cooperative Program?
  • What matters most at Oak View?
  • What is the vision for the future?

… I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 (KJV)

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NLT)
