Living Above the Drudge

Ephesians 2:4-7   Living Above the Drudge!

God’s Embrace of Grace

4But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

Amplified Bible4But God--so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us,

God And Zombies Don’t Mix.

5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Amplified Bible5Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation).

Charles Spurgeon:   “God loved us even when we were dead in sins. His love does not depend upon what we are; it flows from His own heart. It is not love of something good in us; it is love of us because of everything good in Him. Here you see the greatness of His grace, in that "he loved us, even when we were dead in sins."

The Lazarus Principle with Power

6and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Amplified Bible6And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Phillipians 3:20-21   But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.  (NLT)

Ages and Ages of Kindness

7so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Amplified Bible7He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.

Kindness in Crist. “Useful, profitable, a gracious attitude, furnishing that which is needed. The amazing truth is that through God's endless kindness toward us in Christ Jesus, the Father glorifies Himself even as He blesses us. From the moment of salvation throughout the ages to come we never stop receiving the grace and kindness of God.”
