1.  The Word of God is supernatural revelation.

For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. II Peter 1:21 

 

The Bible tells the story of a supernatural  . . .

• Creation – Something out of nothing.
• Nation – The history of Israel.
• Expectation - The prophecies of the Messiah.
• Incarnation – Jesus in the Gospels.
• Manifestation - The church in Acts & the Epistles.
• Culmination – The book of Revelation.

 

2.  The Word of God will build your faith.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. Romans 10:17 

 

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.  John 20:31

 

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.  I John 5:13  

 

 

3.  The Word of God will transform your heart.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Hebrews 4:12 

 

Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.  Deuteronomy 32:2 

 

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.  James 1:22

 

 

4.    The Word of God will last forever.

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.  Isaiah 40:8 

 

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Matthew 24:35 

 

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?  Luke 14:28

 

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3
